Improving the quality of life for premature babies
Integrated by an international medical team from the United States, Chile, and Taiwan, Preeme+You has been working in the neonatal healthcare division for years.

Who they are.
They are a social benefit health startup working to improve premature infant health and developmental outcomes.
They create neonatal interaction and communication tools that positively shape parent-infant relationships and parent-medical team partnerships for improving long-term health and quality of life outcomes for preemies and their families.
02 / THE CHALLENGE
What they needed.
When Preeme+you’s team came to us, they had already conducted exhaustive research and created a pen-and-paper system that was being tested and validated in different healthcare facilities with real patients and families. This rudimentary tool helped pediatricians and medical teams follow the babies’ evolution along the treatment stages.
The startup was looking to create a digital product that could solve a common problem that parents of premature babies face: doctors and health professionals have very busy schedules, and they don’t have the needed time to provide in-depth information on the different stages a premature baby goes through.
On top of that, Preeme+You wanted to build an user-friendly app that helped them:
- Automate data collection in neo-natal care for research purposes.
- Improve the quality of life of the families with premature babies.
03 / HOW WE WORKED
How the work went.
During the first part of this project, we teamed up with Preeme+you to design and develop a responsive web MVP. We focused on creating an intuitive user experience, prioritizing key features, and adjusting the platform’s underlying logic so the app performed well.
The first version of the product aimed to reduce parents’ stress by allowing them to proactively monitor their baby’s progress and receive a constant flow of medical information without having to wait for the interaction with the doctor.
Shortly after the release, Preeme+You’s MVP earned important recognition among medical teams from one of the largest neonatal medicine conferences. Compared to other similar medical initiatives, the app showed an exceptional improvement in the parental quality of life.
After the initial success of the web app, Preeme+You was looking to work on a mobile version of the product, with two main goals:
We began the new iteration by conducting a Product Discovery phase.
As the app’s core logic used dense medical jargon, we had to process it all and translate it to a programmatic level.
We also participated in the product’s rebranding, slightly modifying the existing identity and changing the app’s colors and styles.
- Enhance the features that improved the parental quality of life
- Implement minor tweaks and improvements on the app’s underlying logic
04 / RESULTS
Where it ended up.
Preeme+You was able to improve their product’s user experience and launch a web and a mobile application that earned important recognition from several medical teams and healthcare facilities.
